    Hello Thotakuri Sailaja,

KB5017220 is an update that prepares Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 for Extended Security Updates (ESU) licensing. ESU licensing is required to receive security updates for Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 beyond their end-of-support dates. You can learn more details about this KB, please visit KB5017220: Update for the Extended Security Updates Licensing Preparation Package for Windows Server 2012 R2 - Microsoft Support.

You cannot install the ESU preparation package without a valid ESU license. If you have already purchased an ESU license, you can install the preparation package to ensure that your server is ready to receive ESU updates.

Regarding the issue you are facing with installing the ESU package on one server, it would be helpful to know the specific error message or issue you are encountering. Without more information, it is difficult to provide a specific solution. However, you can try checking if the server meets the system requirements for the ESU package and ensuring that all other updates are installed before attempting to install the ESU preparation package.

    Hope it help.

    Kind regards,

    Lei
