Numerous web pages won't load in Microsoft Edge.(Windows 10). I signed my computer out of my Microsoft account. Edge browser can't verify ANY websites certificates!

I have the same question about a problem I see a lot. The problem, "Numerous web pages won't load in Microsoft Edge.(Windows 10 go figure)". This problem happens suddenly. It seems to be because I signed my computer out of my Microsoft account (about 13 days ago the computer stopped "syncing" to date, time, region information to the Almighty Microsoft cloud in the sky).

The RESULT!!! My edge browser can't verify ANY websites certificates and I can't access any of said websites. More fun... simply going in and setting the time/date/region setting to automatic WON'T FIX THE PROBLEM! WHY??? Because the the "sync" function can't work without verifying the Microsoft website's CERTIFICATE!!! AND THERE IS LITERALLY NO WAY TO WORK AROUND THIS!!!!

WHY? from DAYS OF EXHAUSTIVE RESEARCH it seems to be tied to the desire Microsoft has to make us all REGISTERED USERS!!! SO instead of admitting this issue on every related question, on every forum, on every possible comment that one could click on searching for a solution to your specific hang-up; Microsoft keeps having tech responders post the SAME basic "restart this, or "check that". When the solution usually lies with us "users" trying to use good ole Windows the same way we did from 93 to 07 (like it was originally intended). Free from being a "registered user"!!

Someone, anyone please help with a solution to update my computer so that it may read website certificates and be able to access VERY NECESSARY information so this STUPID MACHINE WILL RUN AS INTENDED!!!

For the record I have ALREADY:

Reset my network

Reset my Router

Checked my network with other devices

Cleared History, cookies, cache

setting my time /date/ region to automatic

checked my location settings

Flushed my DNS

Used a different DNS than my ISP

Uninstalled antivirus 3rd party software

Uninstalled/reinstalled web browsers (chrome, Firefox)

Turned off/on my firewall

run in safe mode

Created a new user profile

searched exhaustingly for malware

Searched exhaustingly for answers

...and much, much more

    Final update

The Solution /answer: is 2 fold

First, had to get rid of a lot of malware

14 whole computer scans by Spybot (10 times) and windows defender (4). I probably didn't need the windows defender scans but I'm including them in the solution because I did them first and can't prove that they didn't help some.

    Secondly

After the 10th Spybot scan, the software had disabled enough malware to allow the computer to show me the second problem

A bad network adapter! The wifi component that was plugged into the USB port was not working properly

Somehow, though, the malware was masking this problem and keeping me from using Ethernet as well(tried that early on).

Either way, clearly I needed to do this because there was a lot of malware (McAfee had been outdated for 2 years).

Yup, at the end of the day, the user was also to blame. this is my parent's computer, admittedly I don't service it enough.

    Hello,

Based on my understanding of your issue, I suggest you use the following methods to troubleshoot:

1.Sign in to your Microsoft account in Windows 10 if you haven't done so already. Go to Accounts > Your info, and sign in using your Microsoft credentials.Once signed in, go to Accounts > Sync your settings and ensure that sync is enabled for all relevant categories, including clock and time zone.

    1. Ensure your Windows 10 installation and Microsoft Edge are fully updated. Check for updates through Settings > Windows Update.
    2. If none of the above steps work, consider resetting Edge. Open Edge, go to Settings and more (three dots at the top-right corner) > Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data.

Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, then click Clear now.

Next, go to Settings > Profiles > Reset settings. Click Restore default settings and confirm the reset.

    Regards,

    Zunhui

    Hello!

Thank you so much for your response. I thought the aggregious nature of my question scared everyone away.

So, as mentioned, I had already tried other things not mentioned above.

I have already checked for updates. The edge browser is running the most updated install. However there is some windows 10 update that has not been able to complete, I believe, due to this problems already occuring. I looked into the update and it says something about the partition on the hard drive. So technically it shouldn't be causing or linked to my other issues.

So now, we get to your main suggestion. I finally figured out that I needed to sign back in... guess what! I cannot sign into Microsoft account. Technically, it's an "online" sign in. Meaning the web browser has to access the Microsoft website.... which is exactly what I can't do!!

Just so I'm clear, every website that requires or offers a sign in, I cannot load/access. The only websites that load are "information" providers. For instance, news websites, wiki, entertainment....again, as long as they don't require a sign in.

I am currently trying to re-install my 3rd party security software (Norton) so that I can attempt another scan. I found a web response that says I should uninstall "WebDiscover browser" ( Google search revealed this app to be spyware that installs tracking and other malware). and then run my scan again to look for malware that was hiding behind the app. Apparently, "WebDiscover browser"app.

So far, the security software has found Several Threats which we're not noted on 2 previous scans... So fingers crossed that this will work.

I will definitely update this issue on completion

But I really want to thank you again for responding!
