Wireless headset auto adjusts volume down.

I am testing a Poly Lens Savi 8200 wireless headset for my office to get new headsets. Every time I get an email from Outlook or take a Snip; I see this pop up of the volume adjuster. It automatically adjusts the volume to be lower and the pop up is very distracting.

TRIED:

  • Re-pairing the headset to the base as recommended by Poly Support
  • Checking for settings in the Poly Lens application
  • checked for settings in Teams and Outlook.
  • set volume in windows sound settings
  • disabled "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"
  • ran troubleshooter
  • disabled absolute volume in registry + Reboot
  • Set Hardware Media Key Handling to Disabled
  • looked for a firmware update but there is none for this headset
  • ran sfc /scannow and DISM restore health in CMD
  • tried connecting USB directly into laptop rather than Doc or Monitor.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community forum.

May I know if this symptom only occurs when the system plays email and screenshot notifications? Have you tried connecting this device to another audio device for testing?

It may be that some applications may have conflicting calls to the audio device. It is recommended that you temporarily close the applications that may control the audio Settings and run only the necessary applications for testing.

In addition, try a clean boot to see if the anomaly still exists.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards

    Jacen
