I got below error on my windows server Update error. Noted that I've tried to update this machine with Administrator account.I also saw that my C drive getting full but when I open the C drive its about half full. But its showing the disk full status. Is this issue related with the update issue? can some one give me the solution regarding this. This is a production server. There is no impact on my service.

    Hi Md. Shaharear Shakib,

the error code 0x80070005 usually indicates that the update process does not have sufficient permissions to install the update. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter. This tool can automatically detect and fix common issues with Windows Update.
    2. Check if the Windows Update service is running. To do this, open the Services app and look for the Windows Update service. If it is not running, start the service and try to install the update again.
    3. Check the permissions on the Windows Update folder. The folder is located at C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. Make sure that the SYSTEM and Administrators groups have full control over the folder and its contents.

Regarding the issue with the C drive showing as full, but not actually being full, this could be caused by a number of factors, such as hidden files or system files taking up space. You can try running Disk Cleanup to free up space to identify what is taking up space on the drive. However, this issue is not related to the update error you are experiencing.

    Hope it helps.

    Kind regards,

    Lei
