Microsoft Teams on Azure Virtual Desktop - Microphone cuts off

Hi all,

I have a problem with Microsoft Teams on Azure Virtual Desktop. The client computer has a fresh install of Windows 11 and no other software but Microsoft Remote Desktop Version .2.3770.0 (x64) installed. I fulfilled all prerequisites for Microsoft Teams as mentioned here (Link). Teams on AVD is version 1.5.00.33362 (64-bit). AVD Media Optimized.

All is working fine expect from an issue with the Microphone. I tried different types of conference speakers connected via USB directly to the client computer and I always have the following issue:

The devices are recognized and also present in Microsoft Teams. Whenever I start a call or meeting, the microphone is not working (in case I start talking, no one else in the call can hear me). When I go to device settings, switch to another microphone source and afterwards switch it back to the original source, everything is working fine. When I then end the call and start another call, there is the same issue again (no one can hear me till I switched the microphone and afterwards switched it back).

Any ideas how to fix it?

    Hi Marcel,

Thanks for your advice. I just checked that out. Unfortunately I don't have the option to make a test call. Maybe that is not possible in Teams on AVD?

In this case, I'll advise you try the microphone on another device to be sure the problem is not hardware related.
