DHCP

I have about multiple IP addresses being assigned with no names associated with them. Also, multiple IP addresses assigned showing up as BAD_ADDRESS, most of which are security cameras. If I enter the IP into a browser, I can log into the device and I can see the view from the camera. It is an odd thing.

I have done the Reconcile on my DHCP. I have even deleted the questionable addresses. I have ran wireshark and I don't see any other devices acting as a DHCP server.

We are on a flat network - less than 100 devices (pc, printer, cameras, access points and smart phones). The common denominator is looking like the DHCP is messed up somehow. The question, how do I rebuild the DHCP role without breaking anything else?

    Hello,

Here's the outline on rebuild the DHCP role:

    1. Export the DHCP configuration to a backup file.

    1. Stop the DHCP Server Service using the services.msc console.
    2. Proceed with the uninstallation/reinstallation of the DHCP Role.
    3. Restore the configuration by importing the previously created backup.

Ensure these steps are executed during a maintenance window when the network can accommodate a brief interruption in DHCP service.

    Regards,

    Karlie
