Windows 10

Epson 2800 eco tank printer

Starlink Internet

Unifi UDM Dream Machine Router

All programs on the PC will print to the printer. The printer shows up in the Devices and Printers section. I can see the device on my router's info page.

I tried downloading Epson's drivers, I could not get past the set up because the set up couldn't find the printer that the PC was already successfully talking to. I tried using the Windows Scan app, it cannot locate the scanner (connected to the printer that my pc is already successfully talking to). How do I install and set up one of these apps to enable scanning?

**This is the help given to me on the Windows website: Note:**If your scanner is included in a multifunction or All-In-One printer, you may only see the name of your printer. To see your scanner, under Printers & scanners, select your installed printer, select Manage, and then choose your scanner. - HOW? How do you choose your scanner? Nothing useful shows up with I click Manage. I have gone through ALL of the printer preferences, and settings, and hardware settings, and advanced settings and NOTHING references a scanner.

I cannot scan from the scanner from the touch screen because it doesn't recognize my PC, the same PC that is successfully sending it print jobs. The scanner does not have a USB or SD drive so I cannot scan to external device. I need these files UNCOMPRESSED on my PC so I do not want to scan to my phone and email them to myself.

A similar problem with a Brother wireless connected MFC.

The Brother package installs without problems but after the installation, manually checking 'Brother Utility installation diagnostics' shows the scanner driver failed to install. However Win11 Device Manager shows the driver as installed.

Trying to scan with Brother Control Centre 4 (their scanner application) results in scanner not found. But 'Microsoft scan and fax' and 'NitroPro PDF' both can use the scanner, the former only for photos and the latter only for pdfs. Clumsy but necessary for now.

Tried all the expected solutions from updating everything (more than once), disabling AV and similar, uninstalling and reinstalling with multiple boots in between steps, clean SFC and DISM runs, to 'updating Windows in place' with no change to the aberrant behaviour. There are 2 other Windows11 PCs available in house, one being a near clone of the problem PC, and Control Centre 4 works properly on both.

I cannot be sure but it seemed to become a problem after one of the Oct Win11 updates. The other 2 PC have the same update sets, so something unique in the one.

    Hello CasiaSchreyer,

It sounds like the scanner on your Epson 2800 eco tank printer is not being recognized by your Windows 10 PC. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Make sure the scanner is properly connected to your PC and turned on.
    2. Check if the scanner is listed in the Device Manager. To do this, right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager. Look for your scanner under Imaging devices or Other devices. If it's listed with a yellow exclamation mark, there may be a driver issue.
    3. Try updating the scanner driver. You can do this by going to the Epson website and downloading the latest driver for your printer model.
    4. If the scanner is still not being recognized, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings. Refer to the printer manual for instructions on how to do this.
    5. If all else fails, you may want to contact Epson support for further assistance.

As for the Windows Scan app, you can try reinstalling it to see if that helps. To do this, go to the Microsoft Store app and search for "Windows Scan". Click on the app and select "Install". Once it's installed, try opening the app and see if it recognizes the scanner. If not, you may need to follow the steps I mentioned earlier to check if the scanner is listed in the Device Manager.

Hope the above information is helpful to you.

If you have any concerns, please feel free to let me know.

    Best Regards,

    Bblythe Xiao

Hi, so I was able to get it working on my Windows 10 PC, which then died in April. Yay.

I'm now on my husband's Windows 11 PC and I'm having the same issue. Only the fix I used before won't work because the Epson scan software is not compatible with Windows 11.

    1. The printer is installed correctly. The drivers are up to date.
    2. I have successfully printed multiple times
    3. I have gone to the Windows app store and downloaded the Scan app - the app does not detect my scanner.
    4. I cannot access the Device Manager because Windows 11 has hidden it completely so I cannot actually manage options for my own hardware anymore.

    Solve this.

I'm having the same problem with my HP Office Jet 1810. Printer works fine. Scanner keeps shooting me an error message OXB8093B62.

I have downloaded new driver, managed to get one piece of paper scanned and then the scanner refused to do any more.
No idea how to proceed from here.

We are having the same issue with all of our Scanjets in the office after the October 5th Windows Update. HP scanning software doesn't work, as with the Twain software for browser based scanning for another program.

Currently, with the HP Scanjet software not working, we are depending on Naps2 software and it's not the best but it gets the job done.
