Can I use windows without having access to outlook account.

I deleted my outlook account last year, since I wasn't really using it. I was using this account to use windows in two different pc. Problems I'm facing for both pc.

  1. For the first pc - I tried logging in 3 months back, I was prompted for bitlocker key which I didn't have. I didn't have my outlook account either. After few workarounds I gave up.
  2. Second pc - I logged in last week. Fortunately, it opened. But I cannot get any work done since it's bombarding me with prompts trying to verify the deleted email id. I don't see a remove option in email and accounts section in settings.

It's frustrating to know that I cannot access my hard disk data just because I deleted an email account. Is there any way out of this?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to delete account.

If you have used your Outlook account to sign in to Windows and have enabled BitLocker encryption, you will need the recovery key to access your data. If you do not have the recovery key, you may not be able to access your data.

You can try removing the deleted email account from the Windows settings in second PC by Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts, select the email account you want to remove, and click on the "Remove" button. If the "Remove" button is grayed out, you may need to add a new account first and then remove the old one.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
