The Scheduled Task for Storage Sense exits with error

Hello,

I am trying to use Storage Sense on a Citrix server (Windows Server 2022) to allow my users ot use Onedrive by cleaning the cache everyday.

The issue I have at the moment is that the storage sense Scheduled Task seems to exit with an error "Non-registered class".

I have tested on multiple servers, even on non-user ones (like an application server) and the problem seems to be the same.

I get this error message : Le Planificateur de tâches n’a pas pu terminer la tâche « \Microsoft\Windows\DiskFootprint\StorageSense », instance « {f9703799-8a2e-408d-8e2a-777da08743e8} », action « StorageUsage State Reporter Task Handler ». Données supplémentaires : Valeur de l’erreur : 2147746132.

I have tried to check the event log but it doesn't give me any more indications. I have also tried sfc adn DISM commands, with no success.

The manual activation of storage sense seems to work, but the use of it via scheduled task doesn't do anything

Is there any way to make storage sense work on 2019/2022 servers ?

    Hi,

The error code 2147746132 means Class not registered. You can try unregistering/registering C:\Windows\system32\StorageUsage.dll manually using regasm.exe. Please follow this guide for more details on registering assemblies.

    Hi

I'm seen the exact same issue, including the exact same error messages in the Task scheduler log/history tab for Storage Sense.

The Scheduled Task "Storage Sense" , simple fails on Windows Server 2022.

It's the samme error on ALL windows 2022 servers, including domain controllers, SQL servers, File servers, Application servers.

The error is a Microsoft error /bug, and is not related to citrix in any way.

Have anyone getting the "Storage Sense" scheduled task to work on Windows Server 2022 ?

    Best Regards

    /Bo Faurholt
