- Remote Desktop Prompt Denied Access It may be that your account is not authorized for remote login, therefore, you need to make sure that your user account is added to the user group. Press the "Win+R" keys to open the run dialog box, then enter "sysdm.cpl" and click "OK" to open the system properties. Click the Remote tab, and then click Select User in Remote Desktop. In the dialog box that appears, click Add, enter a username in the target area, and then click Check Name to add the user.
