I am experiencing an issue when trying to connect to a remote Windows 11 system. The error message displayed is "The trust relationship between this workstation and the domain failed." Our Active Directory (AD) server is running on Windows Server 2012 R2. Notably, Windows 10 users do not encounter this issue and can connect without problems.

How can I resolve this trust relationship error for Windows 11 systems?

    Hello Ramana chitturi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

The trust relationship error occurs when the secure channel between this computer and the domain controller is broken. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

Please rejoin the problematic win 11 machine to domain:

    • Unjoin the computer from the domain.
    • Rejoin it to the domain.
    • This process requires a reboot but is straightforward and takes about 5 minutes.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
