Scan App Only Sees 'Last' Printer

I connect to two different printers with WiFi and another via USB.

I launched the Windows Scan app, and it only shows my home WiFi printer (call it "WF1"). Trouble is, I am connected via WiFi to my not-at-home printer ("WF2").

It is a private network, mine is the only PC connected to it (there are phones and stereos and stuff on the network), and one printer (WF2).

I can print a test page, it shows in Control Panel, I can go to the printer's IP address and use its web-scan feature... But Windows Scan still only shows WF1 and spins and spins and spins.

I have deleted drivers and tried again.

What to do?

    Hello,

Could you please provide more details about how you connect to your WF2 printer? Specifically, are you indicating that the printing functionality works correctly, but the scan feature of the WF2 via Windows Scan app is not functioning properly?

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Best regards,

    Karlie Weng

As per OP: I am connected via WiFi.

And, yes, per OP, the printing functionality is fine.

No, it's not that the "scan feature" is not working properly: Windows Scan will not find that scanner. Ever.

Hi, does the WF2 printer come with its own scanner application from the manufacturer's website? Have you tried directly connecting to the printer to see if the Windows Scan app can detect the scanner that way?

Yes, it comes with all the HP bloatware I don't want to install. As I mentioned on the OP, I can also connect to it via its web interface and scan that way.

TBH I haven't tried connecting via wire; will have to buy a cable.
