I have been running Windows Home Server 2011 on my dedicated server since it came out. Now that support has ended and the OS is becoming glithchy, what is my best alternative for a new home server OS? Is it Server 2019 Standard? IDK, its really expensive and I like the simplicity of Home server 2011. Help with an answer or opinion please!

    Hi Scott GPS,

If you are looking for a home server OS that is similar in simplicity to Windows Home Server 2011, you may want to consider Windows Server Essentials 2019. It is designed for small businesses and home users, and includes features such as file sharing, remote access, and backup and restore capabilities. While it is not as inexpensive as Home Server 2011, it is more affordable than Server 2019 Standard and may be a good option for your needs. Another option to consider is a free and open-source home server OS such as FreeNAS or OpenMediaVault. These options may require more technical expertise to set up and maintain, but can be a cost-effective solution.
