    Hi Ted Bax,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forums.

    I. Find and remove group policies that restrict the connection of Bluetooth devices

    Open the Group Policy Editor:

In Windows, you can open the Local Group Policy Editor by running the gpedit.msc command.

    Navigate to Bluetooth-related policies:

In the Group Policy Editor, you need to navigate to the Bluetooth-related policy settings. This is usually located under the path Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Bluetooth.

Note that different Windows versions and Group Policy configurations may vary, so you may need to look for this on a case-by-case basis.

    Find and remove restriction policies:

Once you have found the policy settings related to Bluetooth, you will need to scrutinize each policy to determine if there are any settings restricting the connection of Bluetooth devices.

If you find such a setting, you can configure it as “Not Configured” or “Disabled” to remove the restriction on Bluetooth device connectivity.

    Apply the changes and reboot:

After completing the policy changes, you will need to apply the changes and reboot your computer to ensure that the changes take effect.

II. Finding and Downloading Specific Bluetooth Drivers

Determine the device model and operating system:

Before downloading Bluetooth drivers, you need to determine your device model and operating system version to ensure that you download the correct drivers.

Visit the device manufacturer's official website:

You can visit the official website of your computer or Bluetooth device manufacturer to find Bluetooth drivers for your device and operating system.

On the official website, you can usually find the driver download link in the “Support” or “Downloads” section.

    Use a driver update tool:

If you're not sure how to find the right driver or want to automate the driver update process, you can use a driver update tool (e.g. Driver Booster, Driver Easy, etc.).

These tools scan your system and automatically detect drivers that need to be updated, then provide options for downloading and installing them.

    Download and install the driver:

Once you find a Bluetooth driver for your device and operating system, you can download and install it.

During the installation process, follow the on-screen instructions and make sure not to disconnect from the Internet during the installation process.

    Reboot your computer:

After completing the driver installation, you will need to restart your computer to ensure that the driver takes effect.

    Best regards

    Neuvi

Yes it did. I had a level 2 Microsoft SUPER TECH on a chat who after an hour or so of trying to solve my Bluetooth problem she finally concluded that I would need to reset my computer and lose everything the hard drive I thanked her kindly and said there aint no way I'm gonna do that. I opened the gpeidt .msc and began removing all of the restrictions BLINDLY and just making a fairly educated guess at what might be causing the problem. Sure enough after only a few minutes when I rebooted my PC . I heard my headphones hook up with no effort at all on my part,,, They simply hooked up automatically. I was so thankful I didn't take that level 2 technician's word and just do what she said.

I was a certified Microsoft pc repair tech. working for General Dynamics under a government contract on FORT HUACHUCA ARMY POST in Sierra Vista AZ all through the XP PRO days. My job was to keep the officer's computers in GREELY HALL functioning perfectly so they could view the bombing in Iraq without any interruptions. I felt like my job was very important, so I took every measure available to me to make sure that was the case, and I got pretty damn good at it. Some of those officers asked for me specifically to help them with their problems. That was a long time ago, but I still have the ability to fix or replace a Windows 10 OS it just takes me longer. SOOO000ooo I was already on my way to doing that when I saw your post and I knew I was on the right path and thank you a TON for the confirmation. Your post was most re-assuring.
