SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for local system in event viewer.

Im getting the same error that the SCEP certificate is not found. Apparently Microsoft failed to renew it for the developer build, since it apparently existed at one point in time and no longer exists. However the c;loud management looks useful.

I will install my own SCEP CA in Azure using InTune using a trial and see if that resolves it and adds some endpoint protection services. Sort of overkill for one windows machine, but useful knowledge. I don't have admin rights on my other Microsoft accounts that would allow me to do this. There is extensive documentation, too much to read actually, but still useful. Overall its encouraging that they are doing a better job sorting out things for people with multiple accounts in different tenants.

    Hi Peter Bachman1,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forums.

Learn about Intune and SCEP CA:

Azure Intune is a cloud-based device management service that allows you to manage multiple devices (e.g. Windows, iOS, Android, etc.) from a single console.

SCEP CA is used to automatically issue certificates for devices via the SCEP protocol, which is useful when implementing device authentication and encrypted communication.

    Setting up SCEP CA:

First, you need to ensure that your Azure subscriptions and Intune tenants have sufficient permissions and configurations to support SCEP CA setup.

You may need to create or configure a PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) environment, including a CA (Certificate Authority), and configure SCEP services.

In Azure Intune, you can set up a SCEP server by configuring a certificate profile. This typically involves specifying the SCEP server URL, challenge password, enrollment ID, and other information.

    Permission issues:

You mentioned that other Microsoft accounts do not have sufficient administrator privileges. Make sure the account you are using is a global administrator or a role with sufficient permissions, such as Intune Administrator.

If needed, you can ask your IT administrator to elevate your account privileges or use an account with appropriate permissions.

    Documents and resources:

While there can be a lot of documentation, the official Microsoft documentation is usually the most accurate and up-to-date. You can start with the Azure portal's help documentation or visit the Microsoft Docs website.

Searching for keywords specific to your needs, such as “Azure Intune SCEP CA setup,” can help you find relevant documentation faster.

    Best regards

    Neuvi
