Windows 2016 Server System Store corruption

Question

Hi all,

We've a Windows 2016 server to which are unable to install monthly security patches. We can install the KB to the OS but when we reboot it make it effective that fails.

We tried resetting WU components/ repairing the os many times by online or a live iso (using dism and sfc) but couldn't fix it.

Could someone extend their helping hand to understand the potential fix to this.

We are getting below event in the System Setup event.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to update failure.

Then Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters. Next, under Get up and running, select Windows Update > Run the troubleshooter.

When the troubleshooter is finished running, it's a good idea to restart your device.

Next, check for new updates. Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates and then install any available updates
