Hi Team,
My machine is running Windows Server 2019, and I'm facing an issue with deploying the latest cumulative update. While the update appears to deploy successfully, after the reboot, the update is not installed on the machine. I checked the system registry and found that only the KB5039217 update was installed. Upon reviewing the Event Viewer, I found the following error:"Package KB5052000 failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0x800f0922.". I followed the troubleshooting steps outlined in this Microsoft link - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/installing-updates-features-roles/failed-changed-absent-state-status-0x800f0922-error, but the update still isn't installed, and the error continues to appear in the Event Viewer log.

Any suggestions or guidance on how to resolve this issue

    Hi,

The error 0x800f0922 when installing cumulative updates can occur due to missing or renamed folders in the C:\Windows\SystemApps directory. To resolve this issue, you need to copy the contents of C:\Windows\SystemApps from a known good machine running the same patch level. Additionally, the error can also be caused by a corrupted scheduled task, such as SecureBootEncodeUEFI. To fix this, you need to delete the staged update packages and clean up the corrupted tasks.https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/installing-updates-features-roles/error-0x800f0922-installing-windows-updates

    Best Regards,
