Transferring Data from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Home

What is the best method to transfer all data from an old desktop computer running Windows 10 Pro to a new one that will have Windows 11 Home? Additionally, will transferring all the data result in the new desktop automatically deleting Windows 10 Pro and using Windows 11 Home?

Thanks,
Gerald.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to transfer data.

There are several options to transfer data:

    1. Windows Backup and Restore https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/back-up-and-restore-with-windows-backup-87a81f8a-78fa-456e-b521-ac0560e32338
    2. Onedrive Sign in to OneDrive with the same Microsoft account on your Windows 11 Home computer. Download the files and folders from OneDrive to your new computer..
    3. Use an external drive Connect an external hard drive to your Windows 10 Pro computer. Copy and paste your important files and folders to the external hard drive. Connect the external hard drive to your new Windows 11 Home computer. Copy and paste the files and folders from the external hard drive to your new computer.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
