I currently use the Microsoft email desktop app and am having issues sending an email from one of the addresses I have set up.

I use several emails within the desktop app like work and personal for ease of use. All my emails basically in the same place.

For the past few months when I try to send any emails from one of the addresses it comes back with an error like the below (Much longer though)

This message could not be sent. You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user.

I am able to send from my Outlook on my phone and I can also send via the web email so this problem is solely related to the desktop app and only for this one email address.

It is driving me insane not being able to fix this. Apart from removing outlook form my computer altogether is there a way I can fix this?

Also if you can help, please know I am not a computer whiz, so will need instructions in layman's terms.

Thank you in advance.

    Hi @Kerrie Lindh

    Welcome to our forum!

It seems that you have set too many accounts in the same profile. Maybe you may consider creating two or more profiles and add corresponding accounts to manage them, more information: Create an Outlook profile - Microsoft Support.

If you find it a bit of a hassle to change your profiles, as a workaround, it is suggested please use both the web and the client to log in to manage your accounts and then send emails from corresponding accounts.

If you are more willing to manage your accounts in the same profile in Outlook Desktop Client, you may remove all accounts except primary email account, re-add them and do the same test to see if the issue persists.

    Hope it helps!
