Ping spikes nearly exactly every 20 seconds.

I've tried different wifi adapters, all the standard fixes I could find, regedit fixes... Nothing helps. EXACTLY every 20 seconds, my ping jumps to around the 10000 mark, no matter what WiFi I'm on. Tried uninstalling the adapter, tried resetting network settings, tried router QoS, tried changing all the energy saving settings you can think of. Anyone know what I could do?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to Ping spikes nearly exactly every 20 seconds.

Open Command Prompt as an administrator. Run the following commands to reset TCP/IP stack.

    netsh int ip reset

    netsh winsock reset

    ipconfig /flushdns

Check there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices causing interference with your Wi-Fi signal. Chang the Wi-Fi channel on your router to a less congested one.

Open Device Manager. Find your network adapter under Network adapters. Right-click and select Properties. Go to the Power Management tab. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Open task manager and check the network usage, if there are background apps consuming excessive bandwidth, try end it and monitor the issue.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
