Thank you for reaching Microsoft Q&A!
I understand that you have noticed the name of the Entra connect sync tool as Azure AD connect tool in your on-premises server.
Microsoft has renamed Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) to Microsoft Entra ID and Azure AD Connect to Microsoft Entra Connect sync.
While the tool has been rebranded to Microsoft Entra Connect, some elements, such as desktop icons and on-premises references, may still display the old name, Azure AD Connect
The rebranding is a gradual process, and eventually, all references will be updated to Microsoft Entra Connect. For now, it's important to focus on the capabilities and features of the tool rather than the name.
However, when you open the Azure AD connect on desktop the setup wizard and shows the updated branding name which has shown in the below.
As a workaround you can manually rename the Azure AD shortcut in you on-premises server without issues.
Appreciate if you could share the feedback on this our feedback forum which is closely monitored by our product team.
