Saved web passwords disappeared after edge vrsion 134.0.3124.51 installed

Edge updated to version 134.0.3124.51. All saved passwords are gone. How can I retrieve them? Wallet shows no passwords saved. Sync us still on. Where did they all go?

    Same issue for me, my lesson is not believe to M$ anymore, may be I will pick another browser...

    I understand that losing all your saved passwords after an Edge update can be incredibly frustrating and inconvenient. Don’t worry — let’s go through some of the most common ways you can try to recover them.

    This issue often occurs due to a minor glitch during the Edge profile update process or a temporary sync error between the browser and your Microsoft account. Here are some steps you can try:

    Top Priority: Check on Other Devices
    • If you use Microsoft Edge on another phone, tablet, or computer and are signed in with the same Microsoft account, please check whether your passwords are still available on that device.
    • If they are, you can export them to a CSV file from that device and then import them into Edge on your current computer. This is often the most effective solution!
    Sign Out, Sign In, and Force Sync in Edge
    1. Make sure you’re signed into the correct Microsoft account in Edge.
    2. Go to Edge Settings (click the three dots ... > Settings).
    3. Select Profiles > Sync.
    4. Check if Passwords sync is turned on. Try toggling it off and then back on.
    5. Alternatively:
      • Sign out of your Microsoft account in Edge.
      • Close Edge completely (use Task Manager to ensure no processes are running).
      • Reopen Edge and sign in again. *This can sometimes trigger a full synchronization. *
    Regarding the "Login Data" File
    • As you've seen, the "Login Data" file does contain saved passwords, but they are encrypted for security.
    • Unfortunately, this file cannot be opened directly with common tools to view passwords in plain text — this is a built-in security feature of the browser.
    Last Resort: System Restore
    • If none of the above steps work and the passwords are critically important, a final (but risky) option is to use Windows System Restore to roll back the system to a point before the Edge update.
    • Please note that this will undo other system changes, so it should be considered carefully.

    Hi @Shop PC,

    Edge Passwords are stored in a file called Login Data under your profile folder. If you are lucky enough, you can restore them. Here're some steps:

    1. Close your Edge browser and go to your profile folder. If you are not sure about it, you can check it in edge://version. Normally it should be C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\ProfileName, but in this step we need to return to its parent folder which is User Data.
    2. Under that folder you'll find a folder called Snapshots. Under Snapshots folder you'll see several sub-folders named with version number. You can go to folder with the most recent version number.
    3. Then, you should have a sub-folder named with your profile name (the same name as what you have in Profile path in edge://version), such as Profile 1.
    4. Open that folder and copy Login Data file. Then, paste it into your profile folder and replace the original one.

    After all these steps, you should have those restored passwords. If it fails, you can try other Login Data file in the Snapshots folder, but just make sure it matches your profile.

    Attention : To those Wins users, who lost passwords in - Edge browser

    Try this fix too. it may sound unusual. Frequently used to import data.

    When we install a new browser or program. But worth a try on

    To import passwords, saved by our default browser

    a) open - Microsoft Edge : click the ( . . . ) Three dots in the

    Top-right corner to open settings : b) click on Settings.

    c) Find and select Passwords : d) in the saved passwords section

    click the (. . .) three dots on right-hand side > select - import Passwords.

    f) Select where to import from and click > Choose file when

    g) click the - file with the saved passwords - to be restored.

    h) click > Open. -- Keep us updated, with the results
