So I forgot my Administrator password and I have been watching a lot of videos on how to do it.

it told me that I should come here to troubleshoot.

Windows 10 : System Restore | Aavtech

then eventually it told me to click on system image recovery and when I did it asked me to choose an account.

How to restore the system to a system restore point - Windows 10, 11 - Lenovo Support CH

The only account showing was the admin account and like I said I forgot the password. And when I click (Forgot your password or don't see your account?) it just restarts my laptop and when I do the whole thing again it does the same thing. So what do I do?

If you have forgotten your Administrator password and are unable to access your account, you can use the System Restore feature to regain access. Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Insert the Windows installation DVD or USB and restart your computer.
    2. When prompted, press any key to boot from the DVD or USB.
    3. Choose your language preferences and click Next.
    4. Click on Repair your computer.
    5. Select the operating system you want to repair and click Next.
    6. Click on System Restore and then Next.
    7. Choose a restore point that was created before you lost access to your account and click Next.
    8. Confirm the disks you want to restore and click Next.
    9. Click Finish, and then confirm the prompt to start the restore process.
    10. Once the process is complete, restart your computer.

After the restart, you should be able to log in using the Administrator account or another account that you have access to. If you regain access, you can then change the password for the Administrator account.

If you continue to experience issues, you may need to create a new protected administrator account or follow additional steps based on the specific scenario you are facing.

    Hi TK TABS,

Thanks for your post. If you are using Microsoft Account and logged into Windows Client, please try resetting the Microsoft account password online via below link: https://account.live.com/password/reset

If you are using the built-in Administrator account, please follow the steps:

    1. Enable built-in Administrator account
    2. Restart your computer and press F8 key repeatedly until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu.
    3. Click "Safe Mode with Command Prompt."
    4. In the Command Prompt window, type net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter.
    5. Restart the computer and log in as the administrator.
    6. Change your account to an administrator account.
    7. Log in with your account and now you already have administrator permission.

    1. If all else fails, please considering reinstalling operating system. Before that please remember backup all personal data for safety.

    Best Regards,

    Ian Xue
