I am using Windows 10 22h2. I have Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6200 AGN wifi adapter. Before installing latest updates the wifi connection strength is good but after installing latest updates especially cumulative update, my wifi strength speed weakens to 2mbps or 6mbps previously it was 58mbps or 72mbps and internet becomes very very slow. Sometimes it become good but most of the time it is weak. It is neither the problem of router nor range problem because all other devices work fine even farther. I think it is a software level issue. Kindly help to fix it

Hi Zeeshan, It sounds like the recent Windows 10 22H2 cumulative update may have caused compatibility issues with your Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN WiFi adapter. Since your WiFi was working fine before, this is likely a driver issue or a Windows network setting conflict.

Try these solutions one by one ,

    1. Roll Back WiFi Driver (If Update Broke It)

Sometimes, Windows updates install incompatible drivers. You can revert to the previous working version:

    1. Press Win + X → Select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Network Adapters → Find Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN.
    3. Right-click on it → Select Properties.
    4. Go to the Driver tab → Click Roll Back Driver (if available).
    5. Restart your PC and check if WiFi speed improves.

    Thanks for reply,

If I roll back the driver. It becomes even worse. It began to happen about 3 months ago. There must be some update related to wifi that is causing trouble. I want to know that update and unistall it. I also reinstalled windows many times and it works better before installing update but after updates, same issue. Is there any utility or tool that can support wifi or fix connection strenght problem. I used many but did not work

    Hello,

    1、Open Command Prompt as Administrator.

Type the following commands and press Enter after each:

    netsh int ip reset reset.log

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    Restart your computer.

    2、Adjust Power Management Settings:

In Device Manager, right-click the Wi-Fi adapter, select Properties.

Under the Power Management tab, uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”

    3、Perform Network Reset:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.

Click on “Network reset” and follow the prompts to reset network settings.

    4、Check for Additional Windows Updates:

Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Check for and install any new updates that may resolve the issue.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
