I am migrating from my old Windows 10 (home) to new Windows 11 (home), program by program. I need to have the MS Windows Fax and Scan Program working on Windows 11, as it did under Windows 10, but I am unable to do so.
I copied my fax contacts from the old Windows 10 folder, to the new Windows 11 folder. They showed up as they did under Windows 10.
Then I copied "sent" faxes from my old Windows 10 folder (Home) to new Windows 11 folder (Home). When I opened the Windows Fax and Scan program, I did not see any sent faxes displayed in the sent items folder. They always showed on my old Windows 10 Computer. Why don't the migrated faxes show in "sent items" within the program?
I sent a test fax, and saw that the new fax did show in my sent items within the fax program, and only that new fax. I then used windows explorer to look at the sent items folder. There were all my old sent faxes AND the new one I just sent. So, something in the old faxes is probably keeping them from being displayed in the Windows fax program, but what?
I ran an index on the folders, but that did not fix the problem. I uninstalled Windows Fax and Scan,
and then reinstalled it, still no change.
I did find that I had to run the Windows fax and Scan program as an administrator, as on Windows 11, when I pressed the send button, the fax would go to my printer, instead of my fax modem. At the time, the printer was off-line, and it does not have a fax feature. Then when I ran the Fax program as an Administrator, it went to my fax modem, and it sent that test fax. And as mentioned above, that Fax was the only one that appeared in my Sent Items folder, within the program.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
