Hi,

In October 2024 I have installed and activated an Office Pro Plus LTSC 2024 on my computer.

Due to some problems, I had to change the SSD of the computer (computer still the same, SSD only changed). Since that, I cannot more activate my Office Pro Plus LTSC 2024. How have I to go ahead to activate it?

With the old SSD and now with the new SSD, I am connected to Microsoft (as I could see on Internet, normaly if I have been connected to Microsoft before and after the SSD change it should work?) account with the computer. What have I to do ?

Thank you,

C. Geiser

    Hi @Titoc

Office Pro Plus LTSC 2024 is one of volume license versions of Office, which use KMS or MAK activation method.

    • For KMS activation, make sure your computer is connected to the KMS host with more than 4 other KMS clients, and then apply for activation.
    • For MAK activation, as long as you purchase enough activation licenses, you can reuse a MAK key for activation.
    • To activate volume license versions of Office, you do not need to sign into Microsoft account.

Do you have retail Office Professional Plus 2024? Besides, do you buy it from Microsoft store or 3rd-party channel?

    • If it is bought from Microsoft, you only need to uninstall the original Office, then log in your account (The account you used to redeem the Office key) to "Microsoft Account", download and Office, and it will be automatically activated.
    • If there are any issues with activation, you can contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.

But if you purchased it from a source other than the official Microsoft website such as Groupon, it's recommended to ask the seller for steps for migrating Office to other devices, as they may be different from those on the Microsoft website.
