How to sync sharepoint online Document Library to OneDrive

Hi, I want to sync sharepoint Document Libray to OneDrive.

Here is the situation.

I migrate lots of files to my Sharepoint online.
I create a security group in AD.
And now I want to sync this Document Library that I have in Sharepoint to Users OneDrive.

I want each of users in that security group have on their onedrive the document library.

Who can help?

Please note that you cannot sync SharePoint document library to personal OneDrive on user’s behalf. You will need to log in as the user and then process the sync since it requires individual credentials.
In addition, we cannot pass credentials of Groups with OneDrive, the sync must happen on a user base.

So, what is the best solution for my case??

There is 1000 Users, doind this one by one is not a solution... I have the files on sharepoint, but I dont want they access sharepoint...

I want they access this via one drive. I create a group in AD, and now I want a GPO that sync this to one drive...

Can you find a solution??

OneDrive sync is probably not an ideal solution since you will need credential to keep the sync working, which means the users need to have access to the source library anyway.

You can create a sharing link to the file/folder/library with or without Editing permission, from either the SharePoint library or your personal OneDrive. It will be easier to manage and you can cancel the sharing anytime you want.

This is not a solution... How I sync sharepoint files and folders without people enter in the sharepoint site?? Like onprem DFS? Maping a network drive?? I think the solution is one drive..

You can sync the SharePoint files/folder to your personal OneDrive for Business, and then share from here. The users will not enter the SharePoint site but still have access to the files/folder in your OneDrive for Business site.

OneDrive for business works similar to SharePoint Online sites in Microsoft 365, it required individual credentials to perform sync and other actions.
Mapping a network drive works only on the current local machine, what you are looking for is File Share instead.

I will summarize my replies here:

You can sync the SharePoint site to OneDrive, but it will require access to the site using your own Microsoft 365 credential.

Syncing OneDrive as an Admin on user’s behalf is not possible in SharePoint Online, and there is no automatic way to sync 1000 user’s OneDrive either.
If I have understood you correctly, your request of syncing the SharePoint site to a OneDrive folder and allow 1000 users in your organization to access from their ends, using their credentials (or without credentials) is not achievable.

Here is a workaround:
You can sync SharePoint files and folders to your personal OneDrive for Business (not the 1000 users), and then create a sharing link from your OneDrive. The users will not have access to the SharePoint site, but they can access to the files from the link (your personal OneDrive site). This way, your personal OneDrive site will work as the File Share location.

I need to sync automaticly the folder that is on sharepoint to onedrive or to a Network mapped drive... I dont want users enter em sharepoint... And I cant enter in 1000 users and made a sync...

Network drive can only be accessed from one machine. What you need is a File Share, that 1000 users can access from their machines. Unless you have only one user end to use, that is no different from using OneDrive.

Here is a workaround:

I have the files on sharepoint.

This files was on prem DFS, the users acess them via Maped Drive.

Now is on Sharepoint. I dont want users acess sharepoint. I want to sync this files to their onedrive personal folder.

Not via link, not via sharepoint acess. I want to create a AD security group, and sync to this group this sharepoint documents.

How to do this?? Its 10 users, and a cant sync one by one.

I guess you dont understand... I want to sync the sharepoint folder not only with me... But with more users... With AD group users... Not only with my one drive, but with more users, one drive..

No emails with links, no sharepoint, no action by users...Automatic!

As Trevor and I both suggested, this is not possible unless you give the users permission on the SharePoint site.

I give permission to userson sharepoint, this is not the problem.

But how can I sync this?? Without users make anything, like onprem server that users dont make anything.

If its possible to sync to Onedrive, its perfect! but not users making this..

You can configure Group Policy as an administrator as introduced in this document: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/use-group-policy#configure-team-site-libraries-to-sync-automatically

This setting lets you specify SharePoint team site libraries to sync automatically the next time users sign in to the OneDrive sync app (OneDrive.exe)

Users will not have to do it themselves. This will work with SharePoint permission assigned to them.

You can enable automatic sync with the below Group Policy.

This will use the OneDrive sync app to pull files to their local machine. The end user must have permissions to the SPO location.

I've heard this feature is flakey or may not be fully implemented. Unfortunately this will be your only option. No other methods are available to you, outside of potential 3rd party products that may provide such functionality, though I'm not aware of any.

First, how can I get the Library ID in Sharepoint Online??

I cant get them using the way showing in the file..

Library ID is also part of the URL if you go into Library Settings. But I'm not sure why you can't get the ID with the method shown, that is still a valid way to pull it. Just click the Sync button and it will appear.

Download the latest version of OneDrive sync client that will do the job for you. Click the link shown in the screenshot you provide (Get the OneDrive for Business app that's right for me) or via this link.

If you go into Library Settings you can get the Library ID from the URL. Or you can use Get-PnPList to get the ID value.

If you need one on one help, open a support case at admin.microsoft.com. This forum cannot provide that to you.
