Sharepoint List - Board View - Hyperlink opening list item instead of hyperlink

Question

When viewing a Sharepoint list in Board View, a site owner can click on the hyperlink column and it will open the hyperlink. (Expected behaviour)

When viewing a Sharepoint list in Board View, a site visitor can click on the hyperlink column however it will open the sharepoint list item and NOT open the hyperlink. (Not expected behaviour)

Is this an intended feature or a bug?

When a site owner or visitor clicks on a hyperlink in a SP list item in either Gallery or List view the behaviour is consistent (hyperlink opens)

Hi @Alastair Murgatroyd Per my test, I could reproduce your issue. This should be an intended feature relate to permission. When I set the permission of the vistor to can view.

The user in the group click on the hyper link will open the detail of the item instead of the link

And when I grant the group can edit item or higher permission. The user will be able to open the link directly.
