Can I create a Data Quality Action to connect through API to a change managment tool such as ServiceNow?

As a Data Steward, we would like to be able to initate a ServiceNow ticket to alert stakeholders that there are Data Quality issue that needs to be actioned and provide insights and comments for data quality issue and plans for resolution. Please advise what are ways to do this within the Microsoft ecosystem and are there specific APIs for connection?

You can create a Data Quality Action in Microsoft Purview to connect through an API to a change management tool such as ServiceNow. Here are the steps to achieve this:

Set Up Authentication:

Use Azure Key Vault to securely store the credentials needed to connect to ServiceNow.

Create a secret in your Azure Key Vault with your ServiceNow basic authentication password.

Grant Microsoft Purview access to your Azure Key Vault.

Create a new basic authentication credential in Microsoft Purview using your ServiceNow username and the key vault secret.

Connect to ServiceNow:

In the Microsoft Purview governance portal, go to the Management menu and select Connections.

Create a new connection by selecting the ServiceNow data source.

Provide the necessary details such as the connection name, credential, and ServiceNow instance URL.

Create ServiceNow Action in Workflows:

When authoring a workflow in Microsoft Purview, add a ServiceNow action by selecting the appropriate option from the action menu.

Configure the ServiceNow action with the required parameters to create or update ServiceNow tickets.

By following these steps, you can initiate a ServiceNow ticket to alert stakeholders about data quality issues, provide insights, and outline plans for resolution within the Microsoft ecosystem
