I upgraded the Azure free trial to Pay as you go but bill generated for azure 12 months free services

Hello All,

I have created the free trial account after 30 days over. I upgraded to pay as you go then I have created the VM (B1S Windows) from the free service. The bill was generated for VM resource as well.

Could you please anyone clarify me?

Hi @Mathanagopal,

When you upgrade from a free trial account to a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) account in Azure, you move from using limited free services to a billing model where you pay for the resources you consume.

The B1S VM is an affordable option, but it is still a paid resource. Once you created this VM after upgrading to PAYG, charges began to apply for its usage.

Hi Nikhil,

But Azure tells us 750 hours per month is free for 12 months, right?

I'm confused, Could you please clarify for me?

Hi @Mathanagopal,

You get 750 hours free usage of a B1S VM SKU per month.

12 months free services is available only to new customers who have not previously had an Azure account or received 12 months of free services. It is not currently available to customers who sign up directly for pay as you go in China and India. Customers who try Azure free must move to pay as you go within 30 days to continue receiving 12 months free services.
