As you have an enterprise laptop, most likely your company has locked down registry permissions. You may need an updated group policy to install.

I can't get SQL Server 2022 to install on my new Laptop. I get errors with no messages. I am out of ideas. I have attached the detail log.

Anyway, the file linked to in the final screen is of interest. In the same folder there are a couple of more log files. Of these detail.txt is the one of most interest. Feel free to attach them here. (But please do not paste any of them directly into a post!)

I see that there is a Retry option, but I guess that does not help?
I note that you are running Windows 11 Enterprise Edition. This suggests that you are in a corporate environment. Maybe you can persuade your IT department to open a support case? These log files are very verbose, but also very difficult to understand.
Also check out this article which discusses a known issue. That issue has no relation to the error you are getting above. However, possibly Setup originally failed because of this issue, and on repeated attempts you get new errors because of remnants of earlier attempts. (I should hasten to add that this is just pure speculation on my part.)

2025-03-24T22:56:43.93+00:00 Finaly got this figured out. It turns out it wasn't the Group Policy but some AV software that was causing the issues. Thanks for the suggestions.
