I disabled multi factor authentication for my tenant admin which worked well for some time but recently, all of the sudden, when I am trying to perform certain actions (e.g. disable MFA for a specific user) I am prompted for the 2nd authentication factor.
The "Sign in another way" is pretty much useless since both methods I am getting presented with are using the Microsoft Authenticator which is not working for me (I am not getting any approval request push notification and the app shows the account as connected but it's not generating one time codes).
Has anyone else had the same issue?
