WE have a shared email account where I work. I want to be able to use the cleanup tool but it does not show that cleanup option when I'm trying to do this in the sared folders.

Is there another way of cleaning up messages in shared folders?

    Hi @Angela

    Welcome to our forum!

Are you cleaning up messages in a shared folder?

In Outlook, you can have the following built-in methods to clean up messages:

Organizing Rules: Set up rules to automatically move or delete messages based on specific criteria, such as sender, subject, or keywords.

Conversation Clean Up: This feature removes redundant messages in email threads. You can clean up a single conversation, a folder, or even a folder and its subfolders. Redundant messages are moved to the "Deleted Items" folder by default.

Archiving: Move older messages to an archive folder to reduce clutter in shared folders.
