Dear Team,

I am global administrator of *********

.onmicrosoft.com tenant id. ******* org id #### and I have lost MFA when I changed to a new phone.

  • I am not able to leave tenant or delete tenant, as Im the last administrator
  • I am also not able to purchase any subscription, as that I receive error that asks me to switch to that directory to purchase subscriptions, which is impossible as I dont have the MFA to switch to that directory.
  • I am also not able to create any resources in Azure without a subscription, which I am unable to create as mentioned above.

I kindly as to reset MFA for the azure account associated to my email ID.

However other Microsoft Services, and purchases like office work well, and are unaffected.

Hello @Chandirasekar Thiagarajan,

The issue relates to a tenant lockout situation where you are not able to leave or delete the tenant as you are the last admin in your tenant. It appears that you are unable to log into the Azure Portal due to an incomplete MFA process. Since you have mentioned that you are not getting any MFA prompts in your new mobile phone to sign in to your directory, you are unable to complete the authentication.

To resolve this issue, we engaged our Data Protection team through a support ticket. Please connect with our support team via the ticket, and they will assist you in resolving the issue.
