Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '18fbca16-2224-45f6-85b0-f7bf2b39b3f3' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.

I get this error message anytime i try and do a module with sandbox in MS learn. How can i change my account settings in order for sandbox to work. Please I know im a begginner but stunting progress because of this feels really bad.

    Hello Kyle Alfonso,

this is a known issue when your Microsoft account is not properly linked to the Azure sandbox in MS Learn. Here are some steps you can try:

    1. Check your MS Learn account

    • Go to Microsoft Learn
    • Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and check which account you are logged in with
    • Make sure you are signed in with a personal Microsoft account or a business account with the correct permissions.

    2. Try another Microsoft account

If you are using a company account, it could be that your company restricts logins for external applications. In this case:

    • Create a new, personal Microsoft account (e.g. with an @outlook.com address).
    • Sign in to Microsoft Learn with this account and try again.

    3. Assistance from Microsoft support

If nothing works, you can visit the Microsoft Learn support forum or create a support ticket.

If this is helpful, please accept the answer. Thank you.

    Hi Kyle,

Please try my workaround below and let me know your results. If needed I will help you get things working. Which module are you working on?

You should be able to work around the issue by first Activating the sandbox (solving puzzles, reviewing/accepting permissions, etc.) and then once you see the sign-in box appear on the right open a new browser tab. In this new tab, browse to https://shell.azure.com. If your existing sandbox hasn't expired you can use that instead of activating a new one.

When prompted, click Bash (The exercise uses PowerShell and Bash. You can switch between them using button at top of cloud shell window)

    User's image

Next choose No storage account required, for Subscription select Concierge Subscription, and click Apply.

    User's image

After several seconds delay while a cloud shell is requested and connected to, you should see $ prompt. At this point you can complete the exercises instructions, copy/paste code from exercise tab to cloud shell tab as needed, etc.

Please click Accept Answer and upvote if the above was helpful.

    Thanks.
