hey there,

I know I'm not the only one out there with this problem as there is a very recent reddit thread with this exact problem set for a lot of the new AMD chips. my system specs are as follows:

CPU: 9800X3D
GPU: Asus TUF 4080 Super
RAM: Corsair Vengance, 96GB DDR5, 6000MHz 30CL
MOBO: Asus ROG STRIX X870E-E gaming wifi
SSD: Samsung M.2 4.0 2TB
PSU: Asus ROG STRIX 1000W Aura Edition

When trying to install windows 11 the entire system freezes at the "searching for disks" portion and I can get past it. Now. I have tried everything. removing the mobo and runing bare bones. different settings in windows 10(which i can get to boot but with loads of issues with freezing) and then trying updating to windows 11. Multiple different USBs to boot windows 11 from from with both the windows media creation tool and the ISO burnt using rufus and other tools. IT WONT STOP FREEZING UP! everything I can find online says that buying a new CPU fixes it. But that CANNOT be the actual solution and I waited too long already to get this thing. I can boot up any non-windows OS just fine and it works beautifully. Multiple linux distros and gaming and stress test runs to percfection. only issue is that I like to use tons of mainstream software. and guess what mainstream software isn't compatible with... LINUX! So please! I beg you! someone at here please have an actual solution that doesn't involve buying a new CPU because I know that it isn't the problem.

    Hello,

    Update Storage Drivers:

Ensure the latest drivers for the storage controller are used. Download the most recent drivers from the manufacturer’s website and include them during the Windows 11 installation process using the “Load Drivers” option.

    Adjust BIOS Settings:

SATA Mode: Set the SATA mode to AHCI in the BIOS settings to ensure compatibility with Windows 11.

Boot Order: Verify that the correct boot order is set to prioritize the installation media.

Secure Boot: Ensure Secure Boot is enabled and set to use UEFI mode.

    Update Firmware:

SSD Firmware: Check for and install the latest firmware for the Samsung M.2 4.0 2TB SSD.

Motherboard BIOS: Update the motherboard BIOS to the latest version available from Asus.

    Recreate Installation Media:

Use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to create a new installation USB.

Ensure the USB is formatted correctly and contains all necessary drivers for the hardware.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
