why cannot use custom domain for static web app?

This is my custom domain for the Azure Static Web App: https://genesis-concept.net/. When I access it, it will become https://genesis-concept.net/lander. The custom domain of this Azure Static Web App: https://caspi-develop.com/ is the same. A while ago, both Auto - generated and Custom domains worked normally, but now only the Auto - generated one works, and the Custom domain does not work properly. Please provide an explanation of the cause and restore it.

Hi @Jiang Bin , I understand you have Azure Static Web App. Your question is about how to setup a custom domain (not auto-generated from Azure) for your Static Web App.

If you use an apex domain (no sub domain like www): Setup apex domain with External provider. Please note about "Some domain registrars (like Google and GoDaddy) don't allow you to point the apex domain to an existing URL.", if this is your case, choose one of the options in the guide.

If you use subdomain: Setup custom domain with External provider. Please note the pre-requisite: You must be able to create a CNAME record on your DNS domain using the tools that your DNS service or domain registrar provides.

hi, thanks for your quick response, this is the custom domain created by azure DNS instead of external provider and they have worked well for several days . please help find why they can not work.

The promotion of DNS changes may take some time. The default time for Azure DNS is 1 hour. If you have made changes recently, you may need to wait a little.

Ensure that the public internet CNAME DNS records are still used to add custom domains to the static web app. It is important for the domain to function correctly.

Ensure that the custom domain resolves the stable web app on the public internet. It is necessary for renewal of automatic certificate to work.

DNS configuration: Azure DNS in DNS to ensure your DNS configuration settings to ensure that everything is set correctly, in which CNAME record points to your static web app.

Hi @Jiang Bin , as far as I know, Azure Static Web App does not provide an option for you to buy custom domain, unlike Azure App Service. Azure is not a domain registrar, the App Service uses GoDaddy for domain registration. You need to check with your domain registrar.

hi @Silvia Wibowo, you can see how I buy custom domains for azure static web app as below, please double check it. I have not changed anything for a period time and worked well for the custom domains , then it does not work for custom domains now .

Hi @Jiang Bin , try contacting the domain registrar: GoDaddy. Every website domain purchased from Azure Portal is hosted by GoDaddy. Reference: https://www.godaddy.com/en/help/contact-us
