Unable to Publish .NET MAUI iOS App for Ad-Hoc Distribution

Hi,

I have been following the steps outlined in this guide to publish my .NET MAUI iOS app for ad-hoc distribution. However, I am encountering an issue in the "Publish the app" section, specifically at Step 5.

When I attempt to archive the app using the Archive Manager, the process never completes. It keeps running indefinitely (for over 2 hours) before I am forced to shut it down manually. Because of this, I have never been able to proceed beyond this step.

I would appreciate any guidance on troubleshooting this issue. Are there any known causes for the Archive Manager getting stuck, or any logs I should check to diagnose the problem?

Are there any prompt during the process? Are there any errors on IDE?

If you are stuck in step5, please check if the provisioning profile or certificate are invalid/matched.

Also, what's the MAUI version and what's the Xcode version? Your Windows machine paired to Mac, right?

There were no errors or prompts during the archiving process, and nothing appeared in the IDE.

I have triple-checked all profiles and certificates—they are correctly matched and valid.

Here is my configuration:

Windows 10 paired with a physical Mac (MacBook Air 2018)

Visual Studio version 17.13.5

Xcode version 16.2

.NET MAUI: 9.0.5

It's strange that I can run the iOS simulator (pair to Mac, of course) in debug mode without issues, but publishing the app in "Release" mode never completes.

Thank you for your suggestion. I attempted to publish the app using the terminal on my MacBook Air, and it completed successfully—it took approximately 1,500 seconds. Please see the attached screenshot of the terminal for reference.

That said, my original question still stands: why am I unable to publish the app via Visual Studio using the "Pair to Mac" configuration?
