How can I set up Windows without a Microsoft account? Currently I use the bypassnro command, but apparently MS is going to disable that method? Why is it a requirement to do so, especially in a business environment where we do not use MS accounts?

To set up Windows 11 without a Microsoft account, you can use a local account during the setup process. If Microsoft disables the bypassnro method, here's an alternative:

During setup, when prompted to sign in with a Microsoft account, press Shift + F10 to open the command prompt.

Type oobe\bypassnro and press Enter.

Windows will restart, and you can choose to set up a local account without being forced to use a Microsoft account.

In case this method gets blocked in the future, there are often other workarounds, such as using group policies or registry tweaks to bypass online account requirements. This is important for business environments where local accounts are preferred over cloud-connected Microsoft accounts.

Thanks for your post. Generally speaking, it is not recommended that we installed ISO without logging into the Microsoft Account. However, as a workaround you can try the following workarounds:

Workaround 1:

Before clicking "Setup for personal use", click Shift + F10 and command window will appear. Type "ipconfig /release" then close command window and click "Setup for personal use" then it will move to next screen which asks you for a username for local account. Then again click Shift + F10 and type "ipconfig /renew" then close command window and continue to step ahead.

Workaround 2:

Use the 3 third software and install it by typical ISO

FYI, I've haven't issues with the bypassnro method as of June 2025. Fyi I've only used it on Dell PCs.
