Azure portal gives endpoints_resolution_error when signing in with Safari

Dear all - The following error occurs since April 2, 2025, approx. 10:00 CEST. After I have successfully logged in to the Azure Portal with 2FA, the portal redirects to an error page. The message

endpoints_resolution_error: Error: could not resolve endpoints.

is displayed. The error only occurs with the latest Safari (18.3.1) on the macOS, iPadOS and iOS platforms. With Firefox (137.0), the login works perfectly on the same devices. We have tried everything possible (e.g. clear browser cache, private browsing), with no effect. We would like to stay with Safari, is there a workaround?

    Hi Markus

    Thanks for using QandA platform.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing the endpoints_resolution_error when accessing the Azure Portal via Safari on macOS, iPadOS, and iOS. This issue appears to be related to Safari's handling of cookies and tracking prevention features.

Since you have tried private browsing mode, you can also try to adjust Safari settings:

    • Go to Safari > Preferences > Privacy.
    • Uncheck Prevent cross-site tracking.
    • Restart Safari and try accessing the Azure Portal again.

Also, ensure that your devices are running the latest versions of macOS, iPadOS, iOS, and Safari, as updates may contain fixes for such issues.

While these workarounds can help mitigate the issue, they may reduce your privacy protections. It's advisable to revert any changes once you've finished your session.

You can mark it 'Accept Answer' and 'Upvote' if this helped you.

    Regards,

    Obinna

    Hi @Markus A. Stulle

I understand that since April 2, 2025, at around 10:00 CEST, users logging into the Azure Portal using the latest version of Safari (18.3.1) across macOS, iPadOS, and iOS have been encountering the following error after successful 2FAendpoints_resolution_error: Error: could not resolve endpoints.

This appears to be a Safari-specific compatibility issue, potentially introduced with the 18.3.1 update. The endpoints_resolution_error typically indicates that the browser is unable to resolve or fetch the required Microsoft authentication or Graph endpoints after login.

Could you please try logging in using Safari by accessing the portal with your tenant ID in the following format:

    https://login.microsoftonline.com/{tenant-id}

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
