Hi,

I have a requirement to turn off or disable the SharePoint 2010 workflows associated to a content type (i.e. Reusable workflows) in SharePoint Online. I checked 'workflow settings' under 'Site Settings' but didn't show up any workflows to turn off.

How can I disable these workflows at the site collection level? ( I observed that if I individually go into each site in the site collection and select 'Documents ->Library ->Workflow Settings -> select the 'custom content type', then I can see the option- 'No New Instances' for 2 workflows. But my site collection has 1000' s of sites, so navigated to 'Site Settings'->Web Designer Galleries -> Site content types -> Selected custom content type -> Workflow settings' -> but it didn't show up the 2 workflow instances as shown in the screenshot below.

I also tried by checking all the 3 options as below from the SharePoint Designer:

Can somebody please help me in disabling reusable workflows either from the SharePoint Designer or Site settings. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Regards

    Hi @sravya shivapuram ,

According to this article - SharePoint 2010 workflow retirement, all SharePoint 2010 workflows should has been disabled in SharePoint Online.

Starting 11/1/2020 6:00:00 AM, SharePoint 2010 workflows will be retired and users will no longer have the ability to run or create 2010 Workflows.

Are you going to remove all disabled SharePoint 2010 workflows in your tenant?

If so, you have to delete the reusable workflow in SharePoint designer via Workflows -> Reusable Workflow -> Delete.

We have a similar requirement to create reusable workflows by Content type. What is the best option to use on SharePoint Online ? Flow does not seem to support attaching to a content type
