Hi,

I am currently experiencing an issue with accessing the new Microsoft Purview portal. I have created a Microsoft Purview account using my free Azure subscription, but I am being redirected to the classic Purview portal instead of the new one.

Here are the steps I’ve taken so far:

  1. I created an account on Microsoft Purview under my free Azure subscription.
  2. I successfully invited my external user account via Microsoft Entra ID and accepted the invitation.
  3. After signing in to the Azure portal, I attempted to open the Purview portal, but it consistently redirects me to the classic Purview portal.
  4. I’ve tried clicking on the "Open Microsoft Purview Governance Portal" link in Azure under Microsoft Purview accounts, and this is taking me to the old portal.
  5. I attempted to navigate directly to the new Purview portal (purview.microsoft.com), but I'm getting the following error. (Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '80........' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account).

Could I please get some guidance on how to access the new Microsoft Purview portal? Additionally, if there are any known limitations with the free Azure subscription that could cause this, I would appreciate clarification.

I have tried troubleshooting by clearing cache, and using incognito mode, but the issue persists.

Thank you for your assistance.

    Hello @Arqum Chaudhry ,

The free version of Microsoft Purview does give you access to the new portal, but with limited capabilities and access restrictions. For a more comprehensive experience, upgrading to the enterprise version is advisable.
Kindly look at this doc for information on how to access the Portal when using Free Version of Purview. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/data-governance-free-version#access-the-free-version-of-microsoft-purview-governance-solutions

    Troubleshooting Steps:
The error message you received indicates that the selected user account does not exist in the tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application. This suggests that the account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first.

Verify External User Account: Ensure that your external user account has been correctly added to the tenant. You might need to re-invite the external user account via Microsoft Entra ID and ensure that the invitation is accepted properly.
If the error persists, I will also suggest trying to access the new portal first using a user that is in the Tenant instead of a guest account. If you can access the new Purview Portal, then it might indicate that the guest account only allows the external user to collaborate on files and resources within your organization, but with certain limitations compared to internal users.

Please do let me know if any of the steps above resolve the issue.
