As a small charity we use Skype as our contact point for bookings, We use it both for live calls and a voicemail function. We use no other part of Skype. How do we get similar functionality in Teams especially of saving the numbers of our callers.

    Hi @Tim Meadows

To replicate the functionality you use in Skype for live calls and voicemail in Microsoft Teams, you can follow these steps:

    Live Calls

Teams Calling: Microsoft Teams offers a robust calling feature that allows you to make and receive calls. You can use Teams Calling to handle live calls just like you do in Skype. You will need to set up a calling plan or use Direct Routing to connect Teams to your phone system.

Caller ID and Call History: Teams automatically saves the numbers of your callers in the call history. You can view the call history by clicking on the "Calls" tab in Teams. This will show you a list of all incoming, outgoing, and missed calls along with the caller's number.

    Voicemail

Voicemail Setup: Teams includes a voicemail feature that can be set up for your organization. When someone leaves a voicemail, it will be saved in the "Voicemail" section under the "Calls" tab. You can listen to, delete, or save these voicemails directly from Teams.

Transcription: Teams also offers voicemail transcription, which converts the voicemail message into text. This can be useful for quickly reading the content of the voicemail without having to listen to it.

    Saving Caller Numbers

Contacts: You can save the numbers of your callers by adding them to your contacts in Teams. To do this, go to the "Calls" tab, find the caller in your call history, and click on "Add to contacts". This will save their number and other details for future reference.

Integration with Outlook: If you use Outlook, Teams can integrate with your Outlook contacts, allowing you to save and manage caller information seamlessly across both platforms.

    Additional Features

    • Call Forwarding: You can set up call forwarding to ensure that calls are directed to the appropriate person or department within your charity.
    • Auto Attendant: Teams offers an auto attendant feature that can greet callers and direct them to the right person or voicemail based on their input.
