Unable to scale PostgreSQL Flexible Server

I have an existing database server deployed in West Europe that I want to scale from Burstable to General Purpose, but I have not yet had any success with that. First attempt last week ran for 2 hours before failing and I have now tried again - it ran for almost an hour before I cancelled it.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this just common for West Europe?

Hello Mahesh,

Correct. The scaling operation never completes. I have already followed the steps provided in that article and done it outside peak hours. I didn't really get any error messages. I am the owner of the account.

How do I ensure that the region has sufficient resources available? Should I consider re-deploying my servers to another region?

Hello Mahesh,

I am currently waiting for my third attempt to deploy the scaling to complete. I have started it at 5:26 AM (CET) to hopefully avoid some constraints related to traffic load.

I didn't notice any issues in the Resource Health tool.

If this attempt doesn't succeed, we will most likely have to move our resource group to another region. As we currently don't have HA enabled on this database server, it is a bit urgent for us to complete this scaling...

Hello,

This third attempt to scale also failed after 2 hours. Under "Deployment details", status says "Conflict" and the code in the error details is "OperationTimedOut". What might be the reason for this?

You can test it by using a different region.
