Hi Team,

I’ve noticed that OpenAI recently enabled image generation with the GPT-4o model on their platform (reference: OpenAI GPT-4o announcement). I’m currently using Azure OpenAI services and would like to ask:

  • Is there an expected timeline for when image generation features will be available for GPT-4o in Azure OpenAI?

Please let me know. Thank you!

Best regards, Muhammad Zubair

    Hi Muhammad Zubair,

As of now, the GPT-4o model on Azure OpenAI Service supports image interpretation but does not include image generation capabilities. For image generation tasks, Azure OpenAI offers the DALL-E model, specifically designed to create original images from text descriptions.

Please refer to below thread for reference:

Currently, there is no publicly available timeline for when GPT-4o's image generation features will be integrated into Azure OpenAI Service. It's advisable to monitor the official Azure OpenAI Service updates for any announcements regarding this feature.

In the meantime, utilizing the DALL-E model within Azure OpenAI Service is the recommended approach for image generation tasks.

Hope this helps. If you have any follow-up questions, please let me know. I would be happy to help.
