I was given a desktop pc by my late brother but he's still the administrator and he never gave me the password, now I am unable to change anything, I tried to access the cmd prompt on the blue screen but it reverts to his username requesting a password but I don't have it. I want to connect to my WiFi but it's not showing on the available list. Can someone please help me with this problem as I really need to access the internet for my school projects.

    Hello @Karen Pillay ,

If you don't know the password, the best option at this point is to do a clean install of windows.

As for your WIFI not showing, it could be due to one of several reasons:

    • WIFI adapter issues: It's possible that your WIFI driver is corrupt, and need replacement.
    • Compatibility problems: Maybe your WIFI uses a more up to date hardware/software, and may not be supported by your windows machine.

Unless fixing the WIFI problems can help you get the password, clean install windows first and then see if the new installed windows still have the same WIFI problems.

    Thank you.
