VPN over LAN fine ... VPN from external client - hell

Forgive me - I am hopelessly out of my depth but learning fast! My first ever server setup!

I have a Windows Server Essentials 2019 instance running and am able to connect via VPN over LAN no problems.

But when I attempt to PPTP VPN from the Internet my client fails to connect.

Nothing is seen in the Event Viewer (unlike when on LAN) I have installed wire shark and I can see the connection is successfully made....

So I am relatively confident that I am getting past the router - i.e. port 1723 is open and connecting to the server?

Could anyone recommend anything to get this working?

Thanks in advance for help and apologies for my ignorance - will definitely be a PICNIC problem!

Thanks,

Paul

The problem was the use of PPTP networking - https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2269902-pptp-vpn-setup-on-rras-server-not-working sorted me right out!
