  • Billing Issue: I am being charged ₹2,850 every month for the Azure Developer Support Plan, even though I have disabled all of my subscriptions in Azure.
  • Subscription Status:
    • I have three subscriptions under my Azure account, and all of them are marked as disabled both in the Azure Portal and via the Azure CLI command az account list (it shows the status as disabled).
    • Despite the subscriptions being disabled, I am still being charged for the Developer Support Plan, which I did not intentionally enable.
  • Charge Description: The invoices for this charge were generated on 1/3/2025 and 3/2/2025. I have confirmed that none of my subscriptions are actively being used or have any resources running.
  • Action Taken:
    • I’ve checked the Cost Management + Billing section, but I cannot find the specific line item or subscription associated with this charge.
    • I have verified that there is no active support plan listed under Support Plans in the Azure Portal (it only shows "Basic").
  • Request:
    • I would like to identify which subscription or service is generating these charges despite the subscriptions being disabled.
    • I would like to stop the Developer Support Plan (or any other active support services that are being charged).
    • I am requesting a refund for the charges that have been applied during this time.

Please investigate the issue and help resolve it as soon as possible.

    Hi,

I recommend you create a billing support request so you can discuss with support engineer. Billing support is free.

Please carefully follow my instructions below to create billing support request and avoid getting stuck in endless loop. Please let me know if you run into any issues.

    1. Navigate to this link to start the process:

    https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_Support/HelpAndSupportBlade/~/overview

    2. Click Create a support request button at top

    User's image

    3. If you see Support AI Assistant as shown below, click Switch to old experience button on right. If not, proceed to step #4

    4. On left, enter billing in the box and click Go

    User's image

    5. Select Billing and click Next

    User's image

    6. Select your subscription from the dropdown and click Next

    7. At this point there will be a delay of several seconds, and then various options will be displayed. Click Create a support request button at the top. Do not click any of the other options.

    8. Fill out screen, Summary, Problem type, Problem subtype, then click Next button at bottom.

    9. There will be another several second delay, and then some solutions will be displayed (this is similar to above). DO NOT CLICK any of the solutions, instead click on Return to support request button in upper left corner, similar to below

azure support request Return to support request

    10. Now you are back at support case. Click Next button at bottom to continue to Additional details tab. Fill out information as required, one of the items you may need is your Subscription ID.

You can open separate browser tab and navigate to your subscription in portal, the ID is there, click the copy button to the right of it, then paste it into the box on Additional details tab. Click Next to advance to Review + create tab, then click Create.

You should receive an automated email within a few minutes and then be contacted by support within 1 business day.

Please click Accept Answer and upvote if the above was helpful.

    Thanks.
