Google Tag Manager does not fire in the portal

We integrated Google Tag Manager in our portal. We see the Google Tag Manager code in the portal pages but for whatever reason, the tags are not active: Google Tag Assistant connects but does not find the tags.

There is a trigger that embeds code on a page view, no conditions.

(To eliminate the possible confusion with my previous question, this time it's different :) .)

For example, did you refer to the Integrate Google Tag Manager to developer portal - Azure API Management | Microsoft Learn Also, are you seeing any error messages in the browser console or in the Google Tag Assistant

Yes, this is the article. This is the only post on the topic I could find.

There are no errors, moreover, I can even see the Google Tag Manager code inside. It just doesn't fire for some reason.

I can see that the GTM script tag (GTM-XXXXXXX) is present in the page source of https://dev.tisane.ai, which suggests that the container is being included correctly. However, as you mentioned, it appears the tags themselves are not firing.

To assist you further, could you please help us understand the following:

What are you observing when you load the page or perform actions expected to trigger the tags? For example, are any specific tags partially firing, or is there no activity at all in the Tag Assistant preview?

What specific tags or tracking events are you expecting to be triggered on the portal?

This information will help us better understand the setup and guide you more precisely in resolving the issue.

Thank you. That's the thing, nothing fires.

There is a tag that is supposed to embed a particular piece of code on page view, no conditions, nothing. The most simple requirement imaginable. And it's not happening.

So what do you guys think? Any subject matter experts out there to investigate?

One thing I noticed that the Google Tag Manager code only appears in the head section, but not in the body. I think it should be in the body tag as well.

Just for everyone's knowledge.

Microsoft does not seem to intend to support this. I was told to wait and then after a few days the message verbatim was "there are no updates".

That was the last communication.

Note, I pay for the support. It's a joke really, the quality went from bad to worse.

Thanks for working with us offline @Vadim Berman.

For the benefit of the community, the root cause is of this issue was identified to be related to the wrong library being used. We did discuss using Add custom functionality to developer portal - Azure API Management | Microsoft Learn as a workaround; however, this did not work for your specific situation. You were, however, able to determine a more involved solution to get past this issue.The product group has been made aware of this specific issue so we can get a fixed rolled out sooner than later.
