Hello! I have a problem and I can't find a solution. I was playing on my laptop (heavy games to be specific) then went to sleep, when I tried to open the game it just doesn't open anymore. Same thing happens to other games (Hitman, Farcry and Sniper elite). To be specific, they do open, I can see with task manager, but after 1 second they close immediately without error message. I've tried everything to try to solve it! Things I've tried: Update Windows to 24h2. Restore Windows and reinstall. Check for viruses. Updated drivers. Cmd using chkdsk and sfc. (no problems detected) and others. I don't know what else I could do to solve it. Help would be very grateful.

Hi, I am Henry and I'd like to help.

It sounds like your games are launching but immediately closing without an error message, which can be frustrating. Since you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, here are some additional solutions that might help:

    1. Check Background Processes

    • Some third-party apps (like Razer Cortex, GeForce Experience, or MSI Afterburner) can interfere with game launches.

    • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check if any unnecessary processes are running.

    • Try disabling overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA, etc.).

    2. Verify Game Files

    • If using Steam, Epic Games, or Ubisoft Connect, verify the integrity of game files:

    ○ Open the game launcher.

    ○ Go to the game’s settings and select Verify Files or Repair Installation.

    3. Check Event Viewer for Errors

    • Open Event Viewer (Win + X → Event Viewer).

    • Go to Windows Logs → Application and look for errors related to the games.

    • If you find an error, it may indicate a missing dependency or corrupted file.

    4. Disable Fast Startup

    • Open Control Panel → Power Options.

    • Click Choose what the power buttons do.

    • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.

    • Uncheck Turn on fast startup and restart your PC.

    5. Test with a Clean Boot

    • A clean boot helps identify software conflicts:

    1. Open msconfig (Win + R → msconfig).
    2. Go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
    3. Restart your PC and try launching the games.

    6. Check DirectX & Visual C++ Redistributables

    • Some games require specific DirectX or Visual C++ Redistributables.

    • Download and install the latest versions from Microsoft.

    7. Try Running Games in Compatibility Mode

    • Right-click the game’s .exe file.

    • Select Properties → Compatibility.

    • Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows 10.

    8. Create a New Windows User Profile

    • Sometimes, corrupted user profiles can cause issues.

    • Create a new user account and try launching the games.

If none of these solutions work, let me know what errors appear in Event Viewer, and we can troubleshoot further
